BeerRiot is a service to help you weed through the wide world of beer to find new beer to enjoy.
Short answer: All ratings you see here are based on your tastes.
Long Answer: Have you ever visited Amazon or IMDB for a book or movie review? You probably found many positive reviews, as well as many negative comments, the sum of which left you less certain than you were before you visited? Which of those reviewer's tastes was most like yours?
BeerRiot solves the unknown source problem. Each user sees ratings for beers based on their own tastes. I may see a 5.0 for a beer while you see a -5.0 for the same beer. No more wondering about the applicability of the rating.
BeerRiot compares your votes to the votes of other members. You are then grouped with the users who most often vote the same as you do. The ratings you see are based only on the votes of this closer-knit group (through some graphing and math stuff I'm not prepared to explain here).
If you find an error (typo, wrong brewery, wrong city, etc.), please click the "Report" link in that beer's/brewery's page. Specify what is wrong with the listing, and submit the form you are presented. We'll get right on fixing it, and thanks for your help.
Note: only registered users will see Report links. If you'd like to contribute, please sign up.
If you have difficulty using BeerRiot (you see errors, the site doesn't look right in your browser, you forgot your password, etc.), email the webmaster (webmaster [at] beerriot [dot] com).
